Youth Group

Dear Youth,

My name is Ken Sladovnik, and I am the Youth Director at Notre Dame Catholic Church.  I appreciate you taking the time to review our web page to learn more about all of the youth activities offered here at Notre Dame.  Currently in my tenth year as Youth Director, the focus of my program has always been on service.  Service to our church, service to our community, and service to each other.

Our Senior High Youth Group meets every Tuesday at our Youth Center from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  We have a large number of students with a great variety of interests that attend on a weekly basis.  With over eight high schools represented, we cover a wide range of topics every month.  Some of the bigger topics we discuss are God, faith, family, values, love, high school issues and spiritual growth, to name a few.  Additionally, we participate in a variety of fun and relaxing activities as well.  They can include movie nights, laser tag, ice skating, mini golf, bowling, skiing, going to dinner and open gym.  Some Senior High events on the horizon include an October hay ride, Make a Difference Community Service Day, area college campus visits for Juniors and Seniors, and the National Catholic Youth Conference in Houston this November.

Not quite in high school just yet but still want to share your faith?  Our Youth program also offers a wonderful, separate program for Junior High Students in 6th-8th grade.  The Junior High Youth program does many of the same topics and participate in many of the same activities as the Senior High group, only it's geared toward YOU!  We meet every other Thursday in the Youth Center from 7:00pm - 8:30pm.

Also, Confirmation for Youth in grades 8 through 12; Youth Confirmation begins in the 8th grade.  All students, whether they attend public, private or Catholic school must attend preparation classes. Classes are held on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:40am. There are group activities planned for summer. Confirmation occurs in the fall at Notre Dame.
